Movie Monday: The chamber garden of the Lower Belvedere with its special ambience is transformed into the most beautiful outdoor cinema in Vienna for the first time this year. This weeks event is 1958s classic “Mon Oncle” ( My Uncle)- the garden of the factory couple Monsieur and Madame Arpel is the hypermodern version of a baroque garden. Only slightly smaller. And full of technology. There is no place for coincidence or play or humor in the world of this quiet new district. The nine-year-old son Gérard can feel this. Until one day his uncle, Monsieur Hulot (Jacques Tati) comes to visit – a person who does not even work according to the rules of this stiff prosperity family. Monsieur Hulot is an angry bird. And poison for the healthy decency, according to which Gérard is to be educated. For Gérard, however, he is an example. The two are friends – and the well-arranged world of the Arpels soon turns into chaos.
